Advanced Business Solutions wins prestigious environmental award for HR Self-Service solution

Advanced Business Solutions (Advanced), a market leading business applications and services provider scooped the silver at this year’s National Green Apple Environment Awards in recognition of the environmental benefits of its Human Resource (HR) Self-Service solution. This is the fourth successive year that Advanced has won a Green Apple Award.

The award was presented to Advanced Business Solutions’ Managing Director, Simon Fowler, by Dragon’s Den star, Chris Hopkins, during an awards ceremony at the House of Commons on 14 November 2011.

The National Green Apple Awards, run by The Green Organisation, recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice and are established as one of the most prestigious environmental award schemes worldwide. 

Advanced’s HR Self-Service is a flexible web-based solution that makes it easy for employees to access the information their employer holds on them. Staff are able to view this information from their desktops and are given the opportunity to amend details, such as bank or address details. They can also make requests, such as holiday and training requests. By reducing the production and distribution of paperwork around an organisation, HR Self-Service cuts the negative environmental impact associated with paper-intensive HR and payroll processes.

Fowler adds, “Our HR Self-Service solution has enabled paper-heavy HR and Payroll administration to be replaced with a web-based solution.
